The fourth National Academic Conference on Shock Wave Medicine and founding meeting of ISMST China branch was held in Beijing during December 10-11, 2016. This conference was Sponsored by Chinese Shock Wave Medical Professional Committee, Organized by Chinese People's Armed Police General Hospital and Supported by ‘Chinese journal of the frontiers of medical science’magezine.This conference was chaired by Professor Xing Gengyan, chairman of Chinese Shock Wave Medical Professional Committee and director of Orthopedics Department, general Hospital of Armed Police Force. Sun Zhenxue, the Vice President of general Hospital of Armed Police Force， Hao Ruisheng, Vice- secretary-general of Chinese Research Hospital Association attended the conference and delivered important speeches. In addition, Sun Xiaoguang, editor-in-chief of ‘Chinese journal of the frontiers of medical science’, Professor Li Zirong, Director of Beijing Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital orthopedic, bone necrosis and joint preservation and reconstruction center was invited to attend the opening ceremony. Before the end of the opening ceremony, Professor Xing Gengyan announced International Society for Shockwave Medicine (ISMST) congress in 2019 in Beijing preparatory work began, the China branch of ISMST was formally established.
More than 400 delegates attended the symposium. During the two days of meetings, Participants discussed the application and the latest progresses of shock wave medicine in different subjects. Including, overview of shock wave medical, tissue repair and regeneration, femoral head necrosis, osteoarthritis, lower back disease, arthroscopy and shock wave therapy, Upper limb tendinopathy, Lower limb tendinopathy, bone nonunion, the disease of foot and ankle, urinary system, neuromuscular spasm and the basic research topic. The meeting communication promote the development of shockwave medicine, and achieved good results.

Summary of the 4th managing board congress

The 4th managing board congress of the Chinese Shock Wave Medical Professional Committee was successively held in Beijing on December 9, 2016. The congress was chaired by the Chairman of the Professional Committee, Professor Xing Gengyan. More than 150 committee members attend the congress. in accordance with the management of the Professional Committee, Professor Sun Wei, form Beijing Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital and Professor Zhang Liheng, from Jilin Provincial People's Hospital were supplemented to be the two new vice-chairmen of the Committee, 11 Standing Committee members and 140 additional members were supplemented the Professional Committee. The meeting also discussed the preparation of the congress of ISMST in 2019 and so on.
